I learned a lot today–
I learned that dying leaves questions
And living is hard even for brave
kids
I learned that some experiences, no matter their
origins,
leave scars, they alter our paths–
or perhaps solidify them.
I learned that young people
are stronger than I am
that love and revelations
are personal and universal,
that I can help you and you can help
me
And that is the most important lesson
anyone can learn
“And if I die before I wake
I pray the Lord my soul to take”
