Word Play

I guess it’s Australian,
a meringue dessert topped with
red and black berries
sweet, like those I know;
It, shaped like a pie
and as easily sliced
like the daily serving
of their kindness
that is never taken
for granted
and that infuses every
second with the tart
stuff of life.
