Pack lightly and keep an open mind
Enter Paris without scorn or care,
Climb the stairs of ancient Rome
Say your prayers near da Vinci’s stone–
Follow the trail past Pompeii and Nice
Back through Cannes and Provence sweet streets,
Tarry near the fountain of peace
Break some bread with the village beast.
Yodel a tune on the Alpen peaks–
Dance a jig with a Turkish priest–
And come back home filled with faith
renewed…that mankind can indeed improve
All in the name of growing up–
Not in age but beyond deeper cusps–
With greater love for common sense
Eternal youth from ages hence
Noting miracles that happen every day–
Like living, learning, loving in the USA.
