It’s the brown on yellow
and crazy angled backs
that make the giraffe
stand out–despite his neck
And the beaver’s
dam and family life and big wide tail
make his teeth seem
quite trivial.
Porpoise’s silly squeals and
Arching jumps amid leaping
pods disguise her genius,
girly grin
Brown saucer eyes under black
shaggy mane, torn pocket plaids
and beat up sneakers too often camouflage
his pure heart and inner dreams.
